The Sake Sommelier Association (SSA) is the oldest sake education provider outside of Japan, committed for over 20 years to promoting sake education globally. The SSA operates through three pillars: Education, Competition, and Challenge.

 

The Sake Sommelier Academy is the only independent international authority for Sake Sommelier® training, offering courses across six continents. Students can pursue four levels of certification:
Introductory Sake Professional, Certified Sake Sommelier, Advanced Sake Sommelier, and the prestigious Master Sake Sommelier. Additionally, they offer the hands-on Master of Sake course for aspiring sake brewers.

 

The Southeastern Sake Academy partners directly with the SSA to provide these accredited courses. Students will complete the courses and tests in person and receive their official certifications from the SSA.

The SSA also hosts the Sake Sommelier of the Year competition and organizes Sake Challenges, promoting skilled sommeliers and showcasing sake from breweries around the world.
